Holy Spirit possesses divine attributes:
Omnipresence (Psalm 139:7–8)
Holy Spirit is ever-present
Omniscience (1 Corinthians 2:10–11)
Holy Spirit is all-knowing
Omnipotence (Luke 1:35)
Holy Spirit is all-powerful
He is equal in essence and power with God the Father and Jesus Christ. The Bible clearly affirms His deity. In Acts 5:3-4, Peter rebukes Ananias for lying to the Holy Spirit and then says, “You have not lied to man but to God,” equating the Holy Spirit with God Himself.
He is the Spirit of truth (John 16:13) and the author of Scripture (2 Peter 1:21), working through human writers to reveal God's infallible Word.
The doctrine of the Trinity (which means one God in three persons) is not a human-made philosophy but divine revelation. While mysterious, it is unmistakably taught in Scripture (Matthew 28:19). The Holy Spirit is not a lesser being or servant to the Father and Son; He is fully God, worthy of our worship and obedience.
Understanding that the Spirit is God should stir reverence and awe. He is not just a helper; He is the Holy God who dwells within believers, transforming them into the image of Christ. Denying the deity of the Spirit is to deny a fundamental truth of the Christian faith.
